Still on Babywatch 2015… absolutely no signs of anything changing any time soon. That’s okay. We’re pretty chill. I considered January 31 to be the first possible date, and the midwives are (thankfully!!) in no rush whatsoever to induce. In fact, I don’t see them again until Monday. So far, every morning I wake up, and no baby!!! Haha.
The good news is that waiting gave me time to make a Birth Day Cake for our son! And because it’s his father who will be eating it, I made the best carrot cake ever. I’ll keep it in the fridge for a few days, and then move it to the freezer if I must!
Ahhh… the joy that is waiting for the worst pain of your life to come soon(ISH!)! :)
Kevin was really hoping to watch the Super Bowl this year while holding his son (I told him he’d have to mute it so he wouldn’t corrupt our baby…. I despise football). But since that didn’t happen, we decided to forego the parties for a quiet Sunday afternoon at home. Kevin mentioned that he’d like to row a little bit while watching and somehow that turned into omglet’srowahalfmarathon. Yeah, you can guess whose idea that was.
It actually worked out really well. I just rowed very slowly, about 8-10 minutes at a time with about a 10 minute break in between. We finished in 1:49:12, a pretty lousy time even for an individual, let alone a relay, but better than sitting on the couch? Probably the healthiest Super Bowl we will ever have since we had paleo chili for dinner. Our tv and rower are now in the basement… making room for the baby, and I don’t like having a tv around anyways. Although now that I’m not working, I could watch Jeopardy!!
After my due date wod and the rowing half marathon, I was like…. I need to take a rest day. The struggle was real, but I did it. I’m serious. It was a struggle. I kept on coming up with ideas of things to do, but I kept myself fairly well planted in bed. Only two short walks. Kevin went to CrossFit without me. :/
I was actually lazy again yesterday so we went out to dinner on a non-Thursday. We NEVER do that. We have a lot of bad habits, but we are pretty good about limiting eating out. Whenever I see the price of a Panera salad, I’m like… why do we ever eat out?!? This sandwich was amazing, but honestly, I felt not-so-great after eating it. Just too much bread. They have salads there which sound great, but I’d heard about their sandwiches so I just went for it. If not when you’re 9 months pregnant, right?
Except that I’m trying to be careful about what I eat so I can properly fueled for labor. Haha. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that’s totally the mindset I have. I want to be rested, hydrated, and fueled, like before any endurance event. I’m being even more diligent about my water intake, which is annoying when your baby is riding super low.
Okay, that’s better. Carbing it up the paleo way today. It’s what feels best for me.
The dogs are loving me being at home and not working. Extra snuggle time and frequent, short walks!!!! Here’s Pippacita with her baby toy lookalike. She definitely got the poor fawn’s whole head in her mouth… three times.
Guiltier looking!!! :)
Here’s a funny post for your afternoon: :)
